Normally, my work consists of documenting other people, light underwater or just capturing mundane life. However, while at home in isloation, it made me try other ways of creating work. It forced me to photograph myself when I don't normally like to and I found it to be a very valuable experience. I used my camera and a toy kaledioscope to capture myself, a woman, in maybe a not so flattering way. A way of deconstructing my face and creating something beautiful from a toy that is used to distort. The end result are two self portraits re-imagining what is beautfiul and pushing me out of my comfort zone.
